South Korean designer Byung-Hoon Choi, who is also the founder of DesignK, has created a collection of Bauhaus-inspired ceramic tableware. The series has everything we love from this trend: strict geometric shapes, brevity, and classic Kandinsky colors.
South Korean designer Byung-Hoon Choi set up a studio in London specifically to create DesignK ceramic tableware.
His work surprisingly combines geometric rigor with the charm of minimalism. His second collection was the Dreieck & Kreis series, dedicated to Bauhaus aesthetics.
The name of the collection means «triangle and circle» in German. The utensils in the ceramic mugs, saucers and teapots absorbed everything that we love so much about the Bauhaus. And that, of course, is the strict geometric shapes combined with the classic color scheme of the Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky.
The focus here is on red, yellow, blue and black hues. Each mug has a unique handle, in which all the same circles and triangles jump from place to place, changing the color scheme at the same time.
